人生は短い

望みがかなうのははるか先（かすかな望み）　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

栄光は一瞬

永遠に続く孤独

平和は束の間

何百回となく繰り返される退屈

   幸運は一瞬の夢

人生は長い

人生は短い

名声は時間をかけて獲得するもの

しかし無くすのはすぐ

  良い習慣を身に着けるには時間がかかる

しかし馬鹿なことはすぐに覚える

成長には多くの年月がかかる

  しかし老いるのはすぐ

 人生は長い。

スタート・ラインから見ると

人生は短い

　　ゴールラインから見ると

人生はすばらしい。

人生はむなしい。

初恋の時の胸の痛み

失恋の時のむなしさ

初めての赤ん坊を抱いた時の喜び

娘が嫁に行った時のさみしさ

人生が永遠に続くと思っていた青春時代

 人生に終わりがあると知った老年時代

人生はむなしい、それが一人で走るマラソンと考えるなら。

 人生は素晴らしい、それが永遠に続くリレー競技と考えるなら。

To my grandma,
my mother’s mom,
who was born here in this house in Kyushu,
died young in Kyoto, far away from here,
leaving a baby girl without hugging her in her arms,
having left a message before her death that she would protect her baby,
that protect her even after she died.

I’d like to tell you that your baby girl has grown up sound and pretty,
that she met and married a nice and honest boy, my father,
she had two sons (my brother and me) and ten grandchildren.
that, when she grew old, suffering from amnesia, with the help of kind neighbors and she lived strong for 90 years.

And yesterday, she had left for you.

If you meet her there, please ask her if she was happy,
if her life was satisfactory.
I hope she will answer yes,
I believe she will reply in the affirmative.

My grandmother!
Please let me, your grandson that hasn’t met you, tell you:
“Thank you for having protected my mother from heaven!”

Very nice and moving essay.

Good sentence structure as you weave your story about your mother from birth to death.  There is. a logical progression of your essay which is well-organized. You share some very personal information about your family in a poignant voice.

Great vocabulary as your essay moves in a lyrical sense. You use words that are clear and easy to follow and understand.
